Social inequalities in mental and self-perceived health in adolescence: A cross-sectional study (under review)

This article (currently under review since July 2024 at BMC Public Health) is one of the key outputs of my doctoral thesis. The process of developing this manuscript has been complex, as it involved collaboration with multiple researchers. This was necessary because the project was funded by one of the working groups within CIBER, Spain’s network of excellence in health research, specifically within CIBERESP’s Social Health Inequalities group. The process of developing this manuscript has been complex, as it involved collaboration with multiple researchers. This was necessary because the project was funded by one of the working groups within CIBER, Spain’s network of excellence in health research, specifically within CIBERESP’s Social Health Inequalities group.

As a result, I had the opportunity to work alongside researchers with extensive experience and expertise, which allowed me to improve various aspects of my work, including data analysis, conceptual development, and academic writing. The article is currently under review, and I am awaiting feedback to make the necessary revisions.

SEXPROM Project: El uso de PROMs relacionados con la sexualidad: un estudio con enfoque de género en personas con VIH

This academic year (2024-2025), as part of my professional practice, we were awarded a Gilead grant to conduct a study on sexual satisfaction in people living with HIV. Although this research project is not directly related to the core content of my PhD, it has provided me with valuable opportunities to develop and strengthen my research skills. Throughout the process, I have worked on drafting a research proposal for a competitive grant call, and once the funding was secured, I…

Throughout the process, I have worked on drafting a research proposal for a competitive grant call, and once the funding was secured, I took on the responsibility of organizing and managing the project. This has involved preparing the study protocol for ethical committee approval, coordinating with various hospitals participating in the study to obtain approvals from their respective ethics committees and formalizing research contracts within institutions, as well as designing the questionnaire to collect the data of the study. Additionally, this year, I will oversee data collection and conduct statistical analyses.

These experiences have allowed me to acquire new knowledge and further develop my scientific skills, ultimately contributing to my growth as a researcher.
